Southern Spain
Some trips are about the destination. This one is about the drive.
When I first came across Porsche Travel Experience, I imagined a luxury road trip through southern Spain — beautiful hotels, great food, scenic roads and a few unforgettable drives in a Porsche. It turned out to be exactly that — but also something entirely different.
Because this isn't simply a holiday where you happen to drive a Porsche. The driving is the holiday.
For seven days, we explored Andalusia from behind the wheel, travelling through Málaga, Marbella, Casares, Ronda, Seville and the breathtaking Sierra de Grazalema. Every day introduced a different landscape — from coastal roads to mountain passes and the famous white villages that seem frozen in time.
What impressed me most wasn't just the scenery — it was how perfectly the route had been designed. The roads never felt repetitive. One moment you're cruising along the Mediterranean, and the next you're climbing through mountain highways with almost no traffic around you. Endless corners, flawless tarmac and the kind of roads that make you forget about your destination altogether.
There were moments where it felt like the entire mountain belonged to our group. Curve after curve, following a line of Porsches through roads you would probably never discover on your own. If you genuinely enjoy driving, it's an incredible feeling.
At the same time, the pace never feels rushed. The days are carefully balanced with long lunches, coffee stops, olive oil tastings, walks through historic towns like Ronda and Seville, and evenings spent in exceptional hotels. Everything — from the route to the restaurants and accommodations — is organised by Porsche, so you never have to think about logistics.
One evening ended on a catamaran overlooking Málaga Bay. Another afternoon was spent wandering through Seville before dinner. In Ronda, after one of the best driving days of the trip, we stopped for a traditional Andalusian lunch before returning through the mountains.
The beauty of the experience is that driving never competes with travelling. It enhances it.
Is it for everyone?
Not necessarily. This is a driving tour in the truest sense of the word. You'll spend several hours behind the wheel every day — and that's exactly what makes it special.
If you love driving, mountain roads and the feeling of discovering a destination from behind the wheel, you'll probably struggle to think of a better holiday. But if driving feels like a chore — or if you're someone who gets restless spending long periods in the passenger seat — this may not be the right experience for you.
Southern Spain is the setting. The Porsche is the reason you're there.
